Memories come from the smallest things...
We drink a lot of iced tea. No, I mean a lot of iced tea. When we were first married we experimented with the flavored tea. The one we made the most was Raspberry. As we moved along the time line of our marriage we dropped the flavor and made just regular old tea. I don't know if it was a time factor or economics or what. Maybe I didn't think it was worth the extra money for the box of the flavored tea. I don't know. Anyways, this past week while grocery shopping we stopped and actually looked at the tea options. We grabbed our usual box of Lipton and decided to throw in a box of Raspberry (for old times sake I guess.)
Fast forward a few days, I'm sitting down with a glass of tea. I'm talking with Melissa and the girls and we're watching a movie from the old days (Escape to Witch Mountain.) I take a sip of my tea and in my mind I can see our first apartment. It's odd how a little iced tea can bring back so many good memories. Not that all our memories are pleasant. Most newlyweds go through an adjusting phase (some louder than others.) They say everything you've ever seen or heard is stored in your mind somewhere. I'm looking forward to finding something else that triggers my memory of times past.
