God's timing vs. my timing
Our credit is less than perfect. We've been working with a debt negotiation place for the last few years trying to rid ourselves of the debt we racked up in college. Our last account was due to be settled on the 30th of the month. We had a $5400 debt with Chase that was going to be settled by whatever company had the account for $3800. I called in on the 30th and the company had returned the account to Chase to be settled. All I could think was, "We were this close to being done with them and they returned it." "Now we'll have to start all over in negotiating a settlement." I was bummed most of last night thinking about it. Today at work, CNI (our negotiation company) called saying they were ready to do a check over the phone. They had tracked the debt back from the law office that had it to Chase and Chase had offered a settlement. I braced myself for the number and still almost fell out of my chair. $2447. I asked them to repeat it. $2447. "Isn't this the same account that yesterday was going to settle for $3800?" "Yes it is. Chase is asking for $2447. Are you ready to do a check over the phone?" Like they needed an answer to that. Heck yes I'm ready!!
I was upset because my timetable was thrown off. I made plans for my life and my money and my family and SOMETHING dared to step in and derail them. That SOMETHING was God saying "Hey stupid! Let me show you something!" Right now, we're thinking about putting a bid on a house in Palmyra and I'm chomping at the bit to get things going. God's using Melissa to say "Slow down; wait for my timing." I hope I can remember to slow down and wait for God. It's a lot easier when I do.
