Does 1 foot really matter?
Ok. I was on the road last week and read something that makes me scratch my head. I was passed by a prisoner transport vehicle that had printed on the back door, "Prisoner Transport. Stay back 501 feet." And I think to myself, "Self, why the extra foot?" Why isn't 500 feet enough? Does anyone out there know? And I'm assuming that this is while the vehicle is stopped. Obviously while it's passing me, I'm well within the 501 ft range. Should I have slammed on the breaks until I was out of "range"?

LOL! I have no idea! seems to me you did the right thing by not slamming on the brakes but it sure makes me wonder!
Okay, this is freaky. Scott and I had the SAME conversation just the other day. And we wondered the same thing.
