Where the heck have I been...

I got to looking and it's been a loooooooooooooong time since my last real blog. Let's see if I can catch everyone up. July we took the girls on their first canoe trip. Our church goes every year and floats the Current River down around Salem, MO. We figured the girls were old enough this year to give it a try. Since we're not completely crazy, we asked my dad and his girlfriend to go along. That way we didn't have 5 people in one canoe. Let's just say the girls LOVED it. They were ready to go back two days after we had gotten home. Too bad there's not some type of black hole portal we could step through and just be there. The ride was enough to make me think we had made a huge mistake.

August has been pretty slow so far I guess; except for the part where we try to get everything done we wanted to do during summer vacation. Look school starts in a couple of weeks. Last night we began the re-organizing of the house to accomodate the new baby. Since we will have 4 kids and a 4 bedroom house that kind of puts us sleeping in the yard. To keep ourselves in the house (and preferrably in our current room) we're doubling up on the kids. Maryn and Paige started the process yesterday. By the time supper rolled around they had both beds in what once was Maryn's room with just a desk and dresser left to cram in there. We figured it'd be best for them to get used to it now before school starts. I'm betting it's a good idea since last night they laid up and whispered back and forth for two hours before I finally convinced them that they needed to go to sleep. Getting them up at 5:30 once school starts should be a real joy. Drew's ready to do her room and I am too. I figure that's the only way we'll get the crib out of the dining room.

I'll try to do a little better job keeping everyone posted on the exciting life we lead. This weekend we're going to ShoutFest in Quincy so maybe they'll be a blog on that. Who knows.
