What a bunch of croc...

Ok. I've long stated that they are the ugliest shoes known to man. Crocs seem to be all anyone is talking about around here. Just so I could see what all the fuss was about I decided to try a pair on. The only place to get Crocs around here is a Kirlin's or Hallmark store. Yes, Payless has a brand called Airwalks that look the same. Since Crocs have been around since 2002 I'll assume that they have a superior design and patent which makes them the better shoe. Anyways, back to the test run. After searching every Kirlin's in my area I came to the conclusion that they were comfortable but I'd have to try them for an extended time before I could say "they're the best shoes ever." The only problem with that is the only color in my size is baby blue. Don't get me wrong, baby blue is a lovely color but not if I'm going to try wearing them to work and stuff. I'm more of a black shoe kind of guy. This left me with one option; mail-order. After perusing the many different styles on the Croc website and talking with Joe at the Croc helpdesk, I decided on a pair of Cayman's in black. The only difference between the Cayman and the Beach (carried everywhere) is that the Cayman's come in an exact size. Instead of a Beach size 10-11 I got a Cayman size 10. Four of us at work went together and ordered a few pair. Melissa also had trouble finding the color she wanted so she ordered a pair as well. We ordered six pair in all (four people ordered.) They came in Tuesday of this week and I can honestly say that I've worn them ever since. It's kind of like walking on a pillow. Melissa is wearing her's for the first time today. We'll see what her feelings are toinight when she gets home. Anyways, we now have a complete set of Croc (or Croc-like) shoes at our house. I did get the Airwalks for the kids because I figure at the rate their feet grow I couldn't / wouldn't get Crocs for them. I'm pretty sure that my foot is done growing for now. I was pleasantly surprised when Maryn also chose a pair of black because "they'd go with more outfits." The other two settled on Hello Kitty versions that are pink. See previous blog topic on my thoughts on pink things.
