January 11

For those of you that take a lot of digital photos listen closely to what I'm about to say. BACK UP YOUR PHOTOS IN MORE THAN ONE SPOT. This week the DVDRW that I was using to save my photos on somehow got corrupted. I went from having photos from as far back as 2002 to having none. I found a program that is slowly restoring my files. I say slowly because it found around 1950 files and it seems to restore about 2 a minute. I'm up to 1000 files restored and counting. On a positive note, I did find a couple of other disks that I backed files up on previously. All in all, I'm only needing about a months worth of pictures from the corrupt disk. Of course that month was December and had two of our Christmas celebrations on it.

Big plus for the week. Yesterday was Drew's birthday. It's hard to believe that she's already three. We had a small party for her with just us here at home. We'll be travelling this weekend to my home town to have a little party with Grandparents. I'm sure I'll be back later this week to let you know how it goes. I jokingly asked my wife if she'd like me to save time and just delete the photos from the camera right after I took them. She didn't think it was too funny.

I guess I should go check on my file restores and turn in. We've got auditors at work this week and you never know what they'll ask you for. Really keeps you on your toes.
