We're baaaaaaaaaaaack!

After what seemed like an eternity, we're back online. We had to go with our last option of satellite to get online at something higher than dialup. I was really hoping that our wireless would have worked out here but it just didn't reach because of the hill we live under. We've moved our webpage since we had to move our service. We're now at http://users.dishmail.net/billups instead of our old address. I think the old address is still up but I have no idea how long it'll be there. So all two of you that check it update your bookmarks.

The other thing I hate about the satellite service is that it's a lot slower than what we had with our wireless. We had to back down from 1.5MB service to 512k service. And, to provide a "Fair Access" to all their customers, they have a 30 day bandwidth allowance. The numbers make it sound like you'll never go over it but I think it's reachable. Once you hit your allowance, they reduce you to dial up speed for the remainder of the 30 days. This will definitely help me cut down on some of the online activities I've needed to cut down on for a long time now. Anyways, rant over. We're back online and on the plus side, we signed back up with Dish network for TV service to get a discount on our Internet equipment.
